Motherhood is the most beautiful unraveling. Chaotic. Tender. Exhausting. Sacred.⁣ There are days I barely recognize myself, the woman I once was no longer exists in the same way. Then he looks at me and that somehow quiets every storm inside me.⁣

Archie boo, you changed the way I see the world.⁣ The way I love.⁣ The way I pray.⁣ The way I carry my heart through this life.⁣ Because being your mom became the greatest honor of my life.⁣

I didn’t always dream of being a mom. I didn’t know a love like this could exist. But now, I cannot imagine a single version of my life without you in it.⁣

Even in the hardest moments, the overwhelming weight of trying to do everything right,⁣ you erase it all with one smile.⁣

It’s been 3 months since we lost our home in Altad

It’s been 3 months since we lost our home in Altadena to the Eaton Canyon fires. It still feels like yesterday and a decade ago at the same time. I’ve been deeply grieving this process.⁣
⁣
For some of us who experienced childhood trauma, building a safe and sacred home as an adult is sort of a miracle. Our home was that for me. This place was never just a house with a structure and some furniture. It was a beautiful, cozy space that we patiently curated to welcome everyone.⁣
⁣
Our home was where we had our ugliest moments as a couple and the most beautiful, healed ones. Its walls held our hands and warmed our hearts during difficult times.⁣
⁣
Our home was loving and generous. It took so many people in and held our sorrows, tears, laughter, and joy. It helped us nurture friends who were hurting and grieving.⁣
⁣
Our beautiful home held our memories, things that money will never be able to replace. You were home to our dreams and our heart’s deepest desires and fears, yet you grounded us. You told our stories and showed our imperfections.⁣
⁣
You were home to many beautiful trees and creatures: wild parrots (loud and happy ones), crows, bluebirds, butterflies, ladybugs, squirrels, owls, spiders, and gophers.⁣
⁣
We could see the most beautiful sunsets from our deck. From there, we could hear every concert happening at the Rose Bowl.⁣
⁣
It was the first home we ever owned, and we worked so hard for it. We are so proud of you, my dear. You saw so much love and helped so many. I’m sorry we had to leave you and couldn’t protect you. You were not the perfect house, but you were the perfect home for us.⁣
⁣
We love you and will never forget that version of you.⁣
⁣
